Introduction

My name is Steven Harris. I’m an Associate Professor in the Department of History and American Studies at the University of Mary Washington where I teach courses in modern Russian and modern European history. This year (2016-2017), I’m a Verville Fellow at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, where I’m working on my second book project on the history of Soviet and Russian aviation. My first book, Communism on Tomorrow Street: Mass Housing and Everyday Life after Stalin, was published in February 2013 by the Woodrow Wilson Center Press and the Johns Hopkins University Press.

This blog features materials from my courses (syllabi, assignments, etc.), as well as my research in Russian and European history. Feel free to drop me a line through the comments links on the blog or by e-mail (sharris at umw.edu).
